The Hero GoPro HD Project

So you got one of those phuntasitc HD cams and are glad to use it? Right! Me too!

The only issue which annoys me is the lack of any kind of remote control. When attached to the outside of the car it´s really a nightmare in case you would like to switch it on and off.

But here comes the solution... I put to together a quite smart remote control which can be simply attached to the Hero Bus connector on the back of the camera.
and the best: it comprises a radio interface by which you can operate the camera from a distance.

Last weekend I found some time to complete the work on the Bluetooth Remote Module Prototype.
I am happy to present: the working version of the remote control!
Currently built in functions:
- take piucture
- change mode
- start video
- stop video
- turn off camera

Now it is time to get it smaller, that it can be attached to the back of the camera.

Communication is bi-directional, so you get a response from the camera, if the command was executed successfully.
We intend developing an app for mobile phones, laptop computers and a stand-alone handheld remote transmitter. The communication from my laptop computer is already working nicely.
