Do It Yourself (DIY) Light Module

 

Status: almost complete (documentation pending)

 

 

Problem: in most classic Minis the complete headlamp current is switched via the lightswitch, which is operating at the limit. Failiure of this expensive device is likely after a number of years.

Here we go! We´re going to do this in solid state technology, which should last forever.

Specs:
* Two channel PulseWideModulation with soft-start and soft-shutdown.
* Turns from OFF to ON state (and back) within 2 Seconds
* Primary channel rated to drive a continuos current of 15A / 20A max
* Secondary channel rated to drive continuos current of 5A / 10A max
* FollowMeHome feature lights up dipped lights for 45sec
* 8bit µProcessor controlled, using StateofTheArt MOSFET switches
* Current consumption in standby less than 10mA
* Only one extra cable to ground necessary (two when using FMH feature)
